John was instrumental in helping Coca-Cola Amatil set up a world-class injection moulding factory in Eastern Creek, Sydney, to become a ‘smart factory’.

He coordinated a team of international equipment vendors, to ensure their kit complied with ‘open’ communication standards, as well as designing the overall plant information architecture.

He was heavily involved in the commissioning too and took ownership of all the vendors, to ensure the go-live date was met. In our case there’s seamless real-time vertical communication between SAP and the factory floor, as well as horizontal communication between all the disparate systems that out-of-the-box, wouldn’t have communicated with each other.

The factory was commissioned in Nov 2011 and the stability of the design has been phenomenal, with legendary uptime and minimal issues.

We recently added world-first functionality with new equipment and once again, John was my go-to person to ensure it would all fit into the existing fully-integrated landscape.
